Tortola now a FULL Sim!!

In my normal fashion I am late with announcements and also don’t make any for a month or so then make 4 in a day!  At least I try…lol.  We are so proud to announce some changes at Braata Beach.  We have recently traded in a few Homesteads(sad to see them go) and upgraded Tortola to a Full Sim.  This sim is going to be almost entirely dedicated to our 4 Panel Epic!  This will provide one of the premiere surf locations in all of sl!  On JJ Lanes II we will add some more shops, expand our outdoor furniture section and put some Pipes and Fluffies out (We will flip back and forth between those).

Over time we may have a few small additions to Tortola, but it will remain 90% free and dedicated to our Epic, just a couple small shops (really only 2) and a spot for people to hang out at and make those lasting memories everyone enjoys!

We are very proud to be growing our surfing locations in a time when many have had to close up.  Who do we have to thank for this?  Our customers!!!  You make this possible for us to provide such activities and locations for everyone to enjoy.  We thank everyone for there support and commitment to Braata Beach!!

New Ticketing System

As we grow the requests that come in for various issues ahve grown also.  It gets increasingly difficult to manage all of these.  We pride ourselves in our products and the quality of them and most have been tested thoroughly but problems do arise and just your everyday custom requests.  I can say though, and I do feel we run very large store, that my IM’s have never been capped!  Maybe because we stay on top of things and log on often or just maybe because we dont have many problems.  But the requests do come in, so enough with my blabbering. We have launched a new Customer Ticketing System to be used for any problems whether they be non delivery of items, bugs or defects, performance issues on our sims, griefers or abuse reports, and also for custom requests.  Please use the following links for the appropriate inquires or issues:

JJ Lane’s Longboard Epic @ Braata Beach – Surf In

This past Saturday we held the surf in for the JJ Lane’s Longboard Epic @ Braata Beach. Like usual I am behind on my postings, and didn’t advertise on here but we sent out many in world notices. The event was a SMASHING success!! This was by far our largest, and if i may say, our BEST event ever. We set out to offer the biggest and best surf event and beach concert ever in SL! I think we did that, I haven’t been to them all but that is the feedback I have been getting. We combined this major surf event with a concert from Mankind Tracer, who was voted last week in Linden Labs Resident Choice Awards the Top SL Live Musician. Anyone that has heard him knows why, he is an incredibly talented musician who signs many songs better than the original artists and also his own written music.

In rl he is Seth Regan the New York songwriter, lyricist, producer and often engineer, Seth Regan has truly made a name for himself in the rock music genre. If you are new to the music of Seth Regan, sit back, relax and have a listen to some clips of his songs either solo, or written with his band mates of Mankind.

We packed 4 sims with 120+ people! It was just a HUGE bash and only the first of many more like this to come. Actually as soon as this weekend we are going for a repeat performance at the second round JJ Lane’s Longboard Epic @ Braata Beach where the champion of the event will be crowned!

Congratulations to the 10 surfers who will advance to this weekends main event and compete with the 20 pre qualifiers.

Surf Jam 9

What a day for Team Piranha at Surf Jam 9 at Mori Pawni. Team Piranha made it clear we are a force to be reckoned with this coming season.  From the kick ass performance by legendary surfer Bonheur Chenaux, up coming superstar Aurora Jacks, our new rider Locksley Blitztein and to our overwhelming support and presence from the rest of the team and fans.

Aurora put up some of the top numbers all day holding the second highest score of all day until late in the semis.  She game out with an amazing 4th place finish overall.  She lost a wave in the finals due to lag issues(who didn’t!) But with the pressure on pulled off a PERFECT final run!!  Thats the way to do it, when the pressure is on go out and kick some ass!!  My own honest opinion, she deserved 3rd and couldn’t quite understand the judges scoring in the finals.  Official results here.

To continue a small rant, I was in absolute shock of the scoring in Heat 2 of the semis.  Bon completely kicked ass and tore the wave apart in 3 runs, rides loaded with technical difficulty and the slightest smallest quickest belly only on one run.  How she got overlooked for the finals I cant comprehend.  The only thing i can come up with was the judges experienced some glitches like the rest of us and just lost their camera???  Got me(*shrugs*).  I am thinking of proposing a more accountable scoring system where we have immediate access to a riders score after a run using Google Docs that are publicly viewable.  Seems to be the fairest way.  Just like in the Olympics, there shouldn’t be that ability to modify a riders score after another rider goes.  I will say, I am slightly ignorant to how the technical scoring system works, and would love to be informed.  Anyways, hats off to Bon, man that girl can surf!!!  Her experience and skills are invaluable addition to this team.

This is just my opinion. Overall though i applaud the organizers and judges for their hard work.

All in all a great day topped with a crazy live performance by the one and only Rastaman Sorbet at The Bomba Shack Immediately Following.  This is going to be a hell of a season!!  Watch out Piranha in the water!!

Subscriber Kiosk

I sent a notice out about a month back about a new subscriber list thingy we are using now.  I took the liberty of migrating all of our customers from the group over to this (If interested in this service for your group(s) contact me).  I will be sending this notice out again to our subscriber list following this.  This will tell you if you got added.  If you would like to be removed just come by the store and click ‘Unsubscribe’ or you can send me an IM.  We aren’t getting rid of the group, but will be primarily using the subscriber list so people can free up a group spot.  We will be sending free gifts to both, with maybe a better gift from time to time for the group members.  Still thinking that over.  Look for much more to come soon.

JJ Lanes II has arrived!

We are proud to announce the arrival of our second full prim sim to Braata Estates called JJ Lanes II. The primary purpose for the sim is for additional prims for our main store and the move of our Epic wave from an ocean sim to a full prim sim.

We finished this past weekend the move of our store to take advantage of the new sim. We moved the landing point over a bit and now have the store half sitting on JJ Lanes and half on JJ Lanes II. You will also notice we have doubled the size of the store to accommodate for the many new items we have coming out soon.
